A charming boutique property located on 13 acres of lush gardens at the foot of Mt. Meru in Northern Tanzania with views south and east across Maasai land. A ten-minute drive takes you up into Arusha National Park, the home to deep calderas and Colobus monkeys.
Shangazi is located in Usa River, about half way between Kilimanjaro International Airport and Arusha, the gateway to the Serengeti.
Set in the shadow of Mount Meru, a part of the volcanic chain that makes up Africa’s famed Rift Valley, the lodge is conveniently close to the amenities of the city, yet still gives one the feeling of living in the traditional African “Bush.”
From Shangazi it’s easy to travel to any number of places, from Kili to Mkomazi to the Ngorongoro crater.
